Employee Frequently Asked Questions

Monitor your training progress

The TLC dashboard provides you with an instant snapshot of the training you need to do, as well as your training accomplishments.

The dashboard lists:

Training Plan

The Training Plan lists the courses you’re currently taking or have been assigned to take, or in the case of instructor led courses, are available to take.

  • If you’ve started but not yet finished a course or course/exam combination (such as Skillsoft courses or TLC authored courses), or have not yet obtained a passing score on the assessment, the course is considered ‘in progress’ and will appear at the top of the Required Training tab.
  • Courses you’ve finished and obtained a passing score for the assessment or that don’t contain a separate exam (i.e., Skillsoft courses) are considered ‘completed’ and will show at the bottom of the Required Training tab.

Specifically, the Training Plan displays:

Registered Training – these are courses you’ve chosen to take and have started but not yet completed, and courses that have been assigned to you and/or assigned to all employees in your position. This tab does not include classroom-based courses.

Position Training – these are courses are assigned by your site administrator and help support your specific position.  Once a course is completed, the completed course will show under this tab and also under the Registered Training tab.

Learning Plans -  these are courses that are assigned by your site administrator.  These courses will also populate in the Registered Training tab for ease of completion.

Prospective Training – This tab only appears if you have requested a prospective position through the Training Roadmap and your manager has approved your request. The courses listed under this tab are required for the prospective position you’ve requested to work towards.

Instructor Training – This tab only appears if your training administrator has scheduled upcoming classroom-based courses, and/or you’ve registered for an upcoming classroom-based course. This tab does not display classroom-based courses that have already occurred.

If your Training Plan is not displaying all completed courses and exams, see Why can’t I see all of the exams I’ve completed?

A Note about Exemptions- If your organization permits it, your manager or training administrator may grant you an exemption from a TLC course or exam.  If this is the case, your training administrator will enter a special completion date (10/01/1799) for the course/exam.  If you then select that module from your Training plan or the TLC Library, the Status will indicate that the course/exam has been completed.
