Available to Administrators only, uncompleting an appraisal is the ability to re-open the last appraisal that was clicked complete.
CAUTION
- Before un-completing an appraisal, verify there has been no appraiser or position change made since the date the appraisal was clicked "complete". If there has been, it can result in loss of data. (see below)
- The current open appraisal will be overwritten when un-completing the last completed appraisal. If scores/comments have already been entered in the current appraisal, make a pdf copy of it to aid in recreating it.
- An historical appraisal that is un-completed and then edited will require new e-signatures upon re-completion.
- If you have any hesitation with this process, please reach out to Product Support.
TIP
If only small changes are needed and the Administrator knows what they are, it is recommended that you edit the completed appraisal rather than un-completing it. Edited appraisals will not require a new e-signature. See the help article, Making Changes to a Completed Appraisal, for information on how to edit an historical appraisal.
Verification of Position and Appraiser
In the Administrator role, click Appraisals & Forms.
Scroll to the Historical Appraisals & Forms table.
Click Select Employees, click the employee's checkbox, click Save Filters.

TIP
Does the appraisal appear in this table? If not, it was not clicked complete yet and you do not need to perform the uncomplete process. Instead, edit it from the current appraisal card.
If the appraisal does appear in the Historical Appraisals & Forms table, click the view icon.
Verify the employee's current position and appraiser on the Employee Data screen match what is on the completed appraisal.
If they are different, temporarily change the appraiser and position on the Employee Data screen so they do match, prior to un-completing the appraisal to ensure no data is lost.
Verification of Content in Current Open Appraisal
CAUTION
Un-completing an historical appraisal will remove any scores, comments, future goals, and goal notes already entered into the current open appraisal.
From the Current Appraisals & Forms section, click Open on the current appraisal card.
Click Current Appraisal to view the appraisal.
If there are scores/comments already entered, click Save to PDF. Information can be copied and pasted back into Performance Pro later from this document.
Verify that no competency changes have been made to the position since it was clicked complete. Compare the competencies on the current and historical appraisal. If there are differences, make note of them so they can be redone after the uncomplete process.
Un-completing the Appraisal
From the Historical Appraisals & Forms table, click the ... in the Actions column beside the appraisal. Click Uncomplete.
Click the acknowledgement checkbox. Click Uncomplete Appraisal.
The previous historical appraisal is now the current appraisal.
From the Current Appraisals & Forms section, users can click Open on the current appraisal card and make necessary edits.
Mark the appraisal complete again when edits are finished. If e-signatures are used, new signature requests will go out upon clicking complete.
NOTE
If you changed the position or appraiser for the uncomplete process, change them back AFTER you've clicked the appraisal complete again. If needed, using the PDF you saved, re-enter into the new current appraisal any scores, comments, future goals, and/or goal notes that were removed during the uncomplete process.
