Position Roadmap
If the Position Roadmap tile appears on your view, this is used to create a structured path or progression of training, development, and learning opportunities tailored to specific roles or positions within your organization. It helps employees develop the necessary skills and competencies to advance in their current role or to transition into new roles within the company.
Your Administrator may create a position roadmap for both your current and potential future roles. This roadmap outlines the specific courses, exams, knowledge, and skills necessary to support your development in these positions. It serves as a guide to help you build the competencies required to excel in your current role or transition into a new one within the company.
Key Elements of a Position Roadmap:
-
Role-Specific Pathway:
- The roadmap is specific to your job role (e.g., software engineer, project manager) or a potential future role (e.g., team leader, senior director).
- It provides a roadmap for the skills, knowledge, and qualifications needed at each stage.
-
Courses and Certifications:
- The roadmap will list training courses that are relevant to your current job and potential future roles. These could include specialized certifications or skills training like project management, technical proficiency, leadership, or communication.
- This ensures that employees gain the knowledge required for their growth and advancement.
-
Assessments:
- Exams and assessments will help gauge employees' understanding and mastery of the skills needed for their role.
- Passing certain exams or assessments may be required to move to the next step in the roadmap, ensuring that employees are fully qualified for more advanced responsibilities.
-
Knowledge and Skills Development:
- A position roadmap focuses not only on technical skills but also on soft skills, such as leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving.
- It can involve on-the-job training, mentorship, or participation in collaborative projects to develop these skills.
