Performance Pro Recognition App User Guide/Tremendous Configuration

Recognizing team members through the Performance Pro Recognition app is an exciting way to enhance employee engagement!

Everything you need to know to get started in using Tremendous is reflected in the Tremendous interface and their Help Center site.  To assist you, we’ve prepared this simple document outlining the steps you’ll take to set up your Tremendous account and connect to the Performance Pro Recognition tool. Once you have the app installed, you will perform the following tasks:

  1. Create your Tremendous account
  2. Set up a payment method
  3. Select rewards (such as gift cards)
  4. Add users
  5. Obtain API key
  6. Finalize Tremendous connection

Setting up Tremendous

  1. Create your account by visiting https://www.tremendous.com
  2. Next, within the Tremendous account, set up your way to pay. For assistance with saving a payment method, please see this article.

  3. Next, you’ll add any user that you want to be able to manage the Tremendous account and fund the account:

    1. Add recipients manually
    2. Or, if there are several users, you can upload a spreadsheet
    3. For assistance with adding users, please see this article.

  4. Next, you will obtain an API key which will allow the Teams app to connect with the Tremendous account. Click the “Request production API access" button to generate the API key. For more information, see this article.

5.  Next, email the API key data to techsupport@hrperformancesolutions.net. Once we’ve updated the app with the API key, we will contact you. At that point, you are ready to go! 

Setting Up and Using the Recognition App

Now that the application is connected to Tremendous and synced to Performance Pro, you are ready to go! 

Give Recognition is where the employee will select the team member, the number of points, add a comment and then select whether the recognition is private or public.


  • The team member can associate a recognition to a:
    • goal
    • competency
    • core value
    • target
  • A team member can also reward another team member with “kudos,” unaffiliated with the other categories.
  • When points are awarded, a manager can also create and award a badge.
  • Only a manager can assign badges. 
  • Any team member can select others to create a “Your Team” list. 

Company Feed and My Recognition is where team members can “like,” and add a comment when a recognition is added by other team members, similar to a social media feed. 

  • It will show the Company Feed recognition list along with the employee’s own My Recognition.
  • A team member can add additional points and comments to a previously posted recognition.
  • A Private recognition can be seen only by the recipient and the sender.
  • Public recognition is available to be seen by all team members.
Redeem Points 

  • Since you already selected your rewards through Tremendous, those will appear in this area shown above.
  • The default point setting is: 10 points = $1.00. 100 points = $10.00.
  • Clicking on the reward item will generate the reward and email the team member with the reward and a corresponding link to that retailer or service.  
  • Points can be disabled so that team members can award points without a redemption method.
  • Points refresh the 1st of each month.
  • Points do not carry over to the next month.

Targets: Managers can create point (or reward) targets for team members associated with goals or a task unaffiliated with a goal.


  • The same target(s) can be assigned to multiple employees.
  • To create a Target, click Create a Target then:
    • provide a name
    • description
    • assign to employees
    • set the reward target amount
    • due date
  • Click “view details” to see the progress of the team member(s) toward that target.
     
    • Employees can add comments.
    • Employees can set their target progress.
    • All team members assigned this target can view progress/comments of any other team members assigned the target.

Create Badges. Managers can create badges that can be assigned to employees. To create a badge,  

  • Click Create Badge.
  • Add a name, and description, and upload an image.
  • Assign to employee(s).
  • Only a manager can assign badges.
Integration with Performance Pro. The following data points are synced from Performance Pro:
  • employee name
  • title
  • assigned core values
  • assigned competencies
  • assigned goals (these can be hidden)
