Performance Pro - Creating a Custom Competency - New Interface

Performance Pro has many competencies available, but if you need to add one that is not already in Performance Pro, this article will take you through the steps to do so.

Click System Configuration, then Content Management.

Under Performance Appraisal Content, select Competencies

Select Competencies Information.

Click Add New.

Click Add New Competency

Select a category to which the competency will be assigned.

Enter the name, description, and default weight, if desired.

Click in the Assign Globally box if you would like this competency added to all of your company positions automatically. 

Note: Be aware that if you assign a competency globally it will be associated with every position within your company. If done mistakenly, the competency will need to be deleted from each individual position one at a time as there is not a mass remove function. You may consider adding the item as a core value instead.

Click Level Configuration.

Enter your competency level descriptions. Click Save.

NOTE

Level Descriptions will not appear if sub-competencies are enabled in your system.

 

NOTE

When creating a competency from scratch, Comment Coaching will not be available for that competency unless it is added or copied from an existing competency by the Administrator in the Comment Coaching setup for the custom competency.

You also have the option to duplicate an existing competency that has Comment Coaching statements already attached.
