Microsoft Teams App Integrated with Performance Pro

A new Microsoft Teams application, integrated with Performance Pro, is now available. This app contains an engagement component that helps employees communicate with their managers about how they are feelings about their work life on a weekly basis and nine engagement pillars that can be interacted with at any time.

The application is available for administrators, managers, and employees. Other upcoming features include a rewards component and a check-in tool.

Accessing Teams


Go to https://teams.microsoft.com.
Log in to your Microsoft account.
Once in Teams, click the Performance Pro icon on the side menu and enter your Performance Pro login. The Client ID will be provided to you by your administrator. Once logged in, you will default to your highest role (manager or employee.)

Employee Dashboard

If you are a manager, the dashboard will default to your manager view. Click “Employee” to switch to your own dashboard.

Your individual employee card displays:

  • The Teams’ avatar (or image if uploaded.) This is not the same image as Performance Pro unless they have been set to match in the respective sites.
  • Your Performance Pro position.
  • View Conversation button – allows you to start/continue a Teams conversation with your manager.

  • Start Meeting button - allows you to start a Teams meeting with your manager.

Weekly Pulse

You can enter a response once a week that indicates how you are feeling about your work that week. The week begins on Monday and ends on Sunday. Click on a number response.

Click “Add Comment” if you’d like to enter a comment explaining your pulse rating. A pop-up will open that displays a running list of comments you have made. Insert your cursor at the top of the list and enter your new comment. Click “Save Comment” when you are finished.

Note: Clicking “Clear” will clear the running list of comments.

When you are finished with your response and comment, click “Save Response.” Your manager will be able to view your comment and pulse rating.

Pulse Trend Chart

The Pulse Trend chart displays the trend of your weekly pulse score. There must be at least two data points for the chart to populate. You can choose to view the chart by week, month, or year by using the buttons in the top, right corner.

9 Pillars of Engagement

This area displays the 9 pillars of engagement and the target and current score you have entered. The target score, or the importance you place on this area, is displayed in orange. The last entered score, or how you are currently feeling about this area, is displayed in blue. You can move these scores at any time by clicking and dragging them.

Definitions of each pillar can be viewed by hovering over the information icon beside the pillar name. Employee definitions are below. (Manager definitions vary slightly.)

Sense of Purpose: Describes your need to find meaning in your work and to understand how your duties, tasks and responsibilities play a role in the big picture. A 10 rating means that this is extremely important to you. A 1 rating means that this is not important to you at all.

Feedback: Describes your need to discuss and understand how you are performing, and to know that you are progressing well toward what is required of you. A 10 rating means that this is extremely important to you. A 1 rating means that this is not important to you at all.

Opportunity: Describes your need to know there are opportunities for professional development and growth. A 10 rating means that this is extremely important to you. A 1 rating means that this is not important to you at all.

Recognition: Describes your need to be acknowledged and called out for your efforts, accomplishments, and achievements. A 10 rating means that this is extremely important to you. A 1 rating means that this is not important to you at all.

Rewards: Describes your need to be rewarded, by monetary means or otherwise, for your efforts, accomplishments, and achievements. A 10 rating means that this is extremely important to you. A 1 rating means that this is not important to you at all.

Collaboration: Describes your need to be a part of projects and work as a part of a group toward goals and targets. A 10 rating means that this is extremely important to you. A 1 rating means that this is not important to you at all.

Innovation: Describes your need to voice your ideas and see them come to life. A 10 rating means that this is extremely important to you. A 1 rating means that this is not important to you at all.

Manager Guidance: Describes your need to have clear consistent guidance, supervision and oversight provided by your manager. A 10 rating means that this is extremely important to you. A 1 rating means that this is not important to you at all.

Work-Life Balance: Describes your need to have healthy well-defined boundaries between your time devoted to work and your time devoted to homelife. A 10 rating means that this is extremely important to you. A 1 rating means that this is not important to you at all.

Pillar Comments

You can make comments on a pillar by clicking the “Comment” link below the scoring bar. In the pop-up, there is space to enter comments relating to the Target or the Current score. The first score for an item will display in black, a new score entered that is higher than the previous score will display in green, and a new score entered that is lower than the previous score will display in red.
