The Succession dashboards are broken up into four parts: Identify, Compare, Development, and Tracking. This article will cover the Development dashboard. Follow instructions in the “Succession: Identify” and “Succession: Compare” articles first.
The next step is to set up an employee Development Plan via the concurrent appraisal feature in Performance Pro. You can then assign it to the employees you have identified for succession planning. The Succession: Development report will allow you to review scores from the completed Development Plan appraisal along with the default appraisal.
To Setup a Development Plan Appraisal in Performance Pro:
From the main menu click System Setup then Company Settings. From the Appraisal Settings tab in the Advanced Features section, click the “Concurrent Appraisals” checkbox. Click Save.
The “Appraisal Process” option will now appear in the main menu under System Setup.
Setting up and Assigning a Development Plan Appraisal Process (Concurrent Appraisal)
Candidates that have been identified for succession planning should be assigned the Development Plan appraisal process. When creating this appraisal process you should include competencies that are specifically in line with the position they are being developed for in succession planning. The Development Plan appraisal will run alongside, concurrently, with their default appraisal.
See the help articles “Concurrent Appraisals - Performance Pro” here and “Performance Pro Update v3.13-Concurrent Appraisals” here for instructions on setting up a new appraisal process and assigning it to employees. When setting up your appraisal process, be sure to give it a name that identifies its’ development plan purpose.
Upon opening Advanced Analytics (and running the Performance Pro V2.0 App), the overview of the standard sheets displays. Click on Succession: Development.
Note: Alternatively, if you were on the “Succession: Compare” dashboard, you can click on the Sheets dropdown in the upper right corner and click on Succession: Development.
