Adding or Editing an Exam

Adding or Editing an Exam Help for Administrators. Add and maintain courses and exams.

To create a new exam, or edit the contents of an existing exam, you must use Mentor Pro, TLC’s content authoring and delivery system.

  • Select Library from the Admin menu.

  • Click the arrow next to Courses, then select Exams

  • Click New on the toolbar to add a new Exam.

  • To edit information for an existing exam, select the exam, then click Edit.  You may need to check the Incl. Inactive checkbox for exams that are embedded in a course, such as a Skillsoft or TLC authored course.

  • The New or Edit Exam screen appears:

Complete or edit the following fields:

  • Exam Title – Enter a name (only use alphanumeric characters, spaces, parentheses, colons, and regular dashes) for the course, as you want it to be displayed in TLC.

  • CBT URL – This is the website address where the exam is located.

  • Type, Category – Select the exam type and category.

  • Pass Percent – Enter the required pass mark for the exam. If the exam is a CU Training e-Learning Library exam, the employee’s score will be automatically recorded by TLC and compared to the Pass Percent. If the exam is not part of the the e-Learning Library, the score will be compared when it’s entered into TLC. Pro.

  • Credits – If the exam provides credits as part of a larger program (such as a multi-course accreditation program), enter the number of credits assigned to the exam.

  • Active – Select the checkbox to add the exam to the list of available exams; leave the box unchecked to make the exam unavailable.

  • Master – If you’re customizing an exam from the e-Learning Library, select this checkbox to have TLC only offer the Master version of the exam until you’ve finished the customized version. Once you’ve finished the customized version, select the ‘Active’ checkbox to make the new exam active.

  • Employees can Self Register – Select this checkbox if employees are able to register for the course without management approval.

  • Randomize Questions – Select this checkbox to have exam questions appear in a random order.

  • Course Associated with this Exam – If there is a course that corresponds to this exam, but hasn’t been associated with the exam, select it from the dropdown box.

Click Update to save.
