Routing an Appraisal - Performance Pro

This article reviews how to route, bypass routing, stopping routing, and how to check the status of a routed item.

To Route the Appraisal

Logged in as manager, to route an appraisal, click

  • Appraisals
  • Finish Appraisal
  • Route tab

If a pre-determined routing path has been set up, the appraisal will automatically follow that path. Click the Route tab.

If you are allowed to choose whom the appraisal is routed to, make that selection from the "Route Setup" dropdown and then click Route

Note: If your system is set up with manual routing, once the individual who received the routed item has responded, the appraisal will return to you. If your process requires the appraisal to be reviewed and approved by more than one individual, you must route it to each person, one at a time, until all approvals have been obtained.

Bypass Routing (Administrative Users Only)

Admin users have the option to bypass the routing if the official approval is not needed.  To bypass routing, click,

  • Appraisals
  • Finish Appraisals
  • Route tab
  • Routing not required.  The next step will be to complete the appraisal.

Status of Routed Items

Items routed to you will appear on the Home Screen in the "Routed Items Inbox" widget.

Items routed by you will appear in the "Routed Items Outbox" widget.

You may check the status of a routed appraisal on the "Route" tab.

Note: If the recipient did not respond within the set number of days, the route will expire.  Then it will show in the "Routing Expired" widget on your home screen. If routing is required in your organization, you must route the appraisal again to obtain the approval before completing the appraisal.

Stopping a Route (Administrative Users Only)

As an Admin, to stop a route, click:

  • Appraisals
  • Finish Appraisals
  • Route Tab
  • Stop Route. The Appraisal will return to the primary appraiser.
