Microsoft Teams App Integrated with Performance Pro

A new Microsoft Teams application, integrated with Performance Pro, is now available. This app contains an engagement component that helps managers gauge how their employees are feeling about their work life on a weekly basis and nine engagement pillars that can be interacted with at any time.

The application is available for administrators, managers, and employees. Other upcoming features include a rewards component and a check-in tool.

Accessing Teams

Go to https://teams.microsoft.com.

Log in to your Microsoft account.

Once in Teams, click the Performance Pro icon on the side menu and enter your Performance Pro login. The Client ID will be provided to you by your administrator. Once logged in, you will default to your highest role (manager or employee.)

Manager Dashboard

The manager dashboard is divided into two sections. The section on the left displays the cards of your direct reports. The right side displays your notifications. Only direct reports, no downline users, will be displayed on the manager dashboard.

Employee Card

The individual employee card displays:

  • The Teams’ avatar (or image if uploaded.) This is not the same image as Performance Pro unless they have been set to match in the respective sites.
  • The bar below the avatar is the current pulse score for the last week the employee submitted a response. If no score has been entered, the bar displays gray.
  • Previous is the previous score the employee submitted on the weekly pulse question. The difference between the current score and the previous score also displays.
  • View Conversation button – allows you to start/continue a Teams conversation with that employee.

  • Profile button – Takes you to the employee’s individual engagement profile, as explained below.

Notifications

Displays a running list of the activities of your direct reports within the Teams app as they interact with the different engagement components.

Clicking the Profile button on the employee’s card will open the engagement profile on that employee.

Clicking “View Comment” will display all comments made on the weekly pulse by the selected employee.

Start Meeting

Clicking “Start Meeting” allows you to start a Teams meeting with that employee.

Send Performance Note

Clicking “Send Performance Note” allows you to create a performance note that is saved within Performance Pro on the employee’s Performance History > Notes tab. Click “Send to Performance Pro” when you are finished with the note. A confirmation will be displayed after the note has been sent.

Pulse Trend Chart

The Pulse Trend chart displays the trend of the employee’s weekly pulse score. The employee can enter only one score each week. The week begins on Monday and ends on Sunday. There must be at least two data points for the chart to populate. You can choose to view the chart by week, month, or year by using the buttons in the top, right corner.

Change Tracking

The Change Tracking box displays the selected employee’s changes made to scores/comments in the 9 pillars of engagement. The first score for an item will display in black, a new score entered that is higher than the previous score will display in green, a new score entered that is lower than the previous score will display in red with an exclamation mark.

9 Pillars of Engagement

This area displays the 9 pillars of engagement and the target and current score the employee has entered. The target score, or the importance the employee places on this area, is displayed in orange. The currently entered score, or how the employee is currently feeling about this area, is displayed in blue. The employee can move these scores at any time. When a score is moved, it will create a notification in the Notifications section of the dashboard of the manager.

9 pillars

Definitions of each pillar can be viewed by hovering over the information icon beside the pillar name. (These are not customizable.) Manager view of the definitions are below. (Employee view of the definitions varies slightly.)

Sense of Purpose: Describes the employee's need to find meaning in their work and to understand how their duties, tasks and responsibilities play a role in the big picture. A 10 rating means that this is extremely important to them. A 1 rating means that this is not important to them at all.

Feedback: Describes the employee's need to discuss and understand how they are performing, and to know that they are progressing well toward what is required of them. A 10 rating means that this is extremely important to them. A 1 rating means that this is not important to them at all.

Opportunity: Describes the employee's need to know there are opportunities for professional development and growth. A 10 rating means that this is extremely important to them. A 1 rating means that this is not important to them at all.

Recognition: Describes the employee's need to be acknowledged and called out for their efforts, accomplishments, and achievements. A 10 rating means that this is extremely important to them. A 1 rating means that this is not important to them at all.

Rewards: Describes the employee's need to be rewarded, by monetary means or otherwise, for their efforts, accomplishments, and achievements. A 10 rating means that this is extremely important to them. A 1 rating means that this is not important to them at all.

Collaboration: Describes the employee's need to be a part of projects and work as a part of a group toward goals and targets. A 10 rating means that this is extremely important to them. A 1 rating means that this is not important to them at all.

Innovation: Describes the employee's need to voice their ideas and see them come to life. A 10 rating means that this is extremely important to them. A 1 rating means that this is not important to them at all.

Manager Guidance: Describes the employee's need to have clear consistent guidance, supervision and oversight provided by their manager. A 10 rating means that this is extremely important to them. A 1 rating means that this is not important to them at all.

Work-Life Balance: Describes the employee's need to have healthy well-defined boundaries between their time devoted to work and their time devoted to homelife. A 10 rating means that this is extremely important to them. A 1 rating means that this is not important to them at all.

Pillar Comments

Employees can make comments on a pillar. If the employee has made a comment, the comment icon will display in orange. If there are no comments on a pillar, it will be grayed out. Clicking “Comment” will open the comment.
