How do I set up my browser to run The Learning Center?

To successfully run The Learning Center, you must correctly configure your browser to access the system. This includes confirming that:

  • JavaScript is enabled (by default in newer browsers)
  • Cookies are enabled
  • Pop-up windows are not be blocked OR are enabled for *.cutrainingonline.com, and if your organization uses a Skillsoft bundle of courses, are enabled for *.skillport.com and *.skillwsa.com
  • The browser’s zoom setting is 100% and the text size is Medium. See Why do some elements overlap or disappear on my TLC screen? for instructions how to check these settings.

To configure your browser for TLC, see the instructions for the browser you’re using: 

  • Edge
  • Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Safari (Desktop/Laptop)
  • Safari (iPhone)
  • Safari (iPad)

Note that browser settings may vary depending on the browser version and operating system version you’re using. Your browser settings screens may look different from the screen images below.

Edge

  1. Open Edge.
  2. Click the three dots icon in the top right-hand corner of the browser to open the menu, then select Settings.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings menu, and select View advanced settings.

  4. Within the Advanced settings, ensure that Block pop-ups is turned OFF.

  5. Locate the Cookies section, and ensure that Don’t block cookies is selected.

Chrome

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. Click the three dots icon in the top right-hand corner of the browser, and select Settings.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings window and select Advanced.

  4. In the Privacy and security section, open the Content settings.

  5. Locate and select the Pop-ups and redirects section.

  6. When the Pop-ups and redirects screen appears, do one of the following:
  • To allow all sites to show pop-ups, select Allowed.   OR
  • To allow pop-ups just for CU Training’s applications, do the following:
  1. In the Allow section, click the Add button. The Add a site window appears.

  2. Enter [*.]cutrainingonline.com  in the Site field, then click Add.
  3. If your organization uses the Skillsoft bundle of business courses, repeat the above step to also allow *.skillport.com  and *.skillwsa.com.

Firefox

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Click the three bars icon at the top right-hand corner of the browser to open the menu, then select Preferences.

  3. When the Preferences screen appears, select Privacy & Security from the left-hand menu.

  4. When the Privacy & Security screen appears, scroll down to the Permissions section.

  5. Do one of the following:
  • To allow all sites to show pop-ups, remove the checkmark from the Block pop-up windows checkbox.   OR
  • To allow pop-ups just for CU Training’s applications, do the following:
  1. Click Exceptions…

  2. When the Allowed Sites – Pop-ups screen appears, enter cutrainingonline.com in the Address of website field, then select Allow.
  3. If your organization uses the Skillsoft bundle of business courses, repeat the above step to also add *.skillport.com  and *.skillwsa.com.
  4. Click Save Changes to save what you’ve entered.

Safari (Desktop/Laptop)

  1. Open Safari.
  2. From the menu, select Safari, then Preferences…

  3. Select the Security tab.
  4. Ensure Enable JavaScript is selected and Block pop-up windows is NOT selected.

  5. Select the Privacy tab.

  6. Ensure that the checkbox next to Block all cookies is NOT selected

Safari (iPhone)

  1. On the iPhone, select Settings.
  2. When the Settings screen appears, scroll down and select Safari.

  3. Scroll through the Safari settings and:
  • Ensure that Block Pop-ups is NOT selected.
  • Ensure that Block Cookies is NOT selected.

Safari – iPad

  1. On the iPad, select Settings.
  2. When the Settings screen appears, scroll through the list on the left and select Safari.

  3. In the Safari settings (on the right side of the screen), ensure that Block Pop-ups is NOT selected.
  4. Additionally, ensure that the Block Cookies setting is either Always Allow or Allow from Websites I Visit.
  5. Select Advanced, then on the Advanced settings screen, ensure JavaScript is selected.
