Listed below are descriptions for overall weight settings under the Appraisal Settings tab. When changes are made to settings, please always remember to click save at the bottom of the Performance Pro page.

Overall Weights

Description

Weight Source Allows different weight defaults for different company groups.  Options are:
  • Pay Basis
  • Position
  • Department
  • Location
  • Division
  • Routing Group

Core Value/Competency/Goal/Total Weights

Allows the admin to set a percentage value to apply to core values, competencies, and goals (both individual goals and business goals.) 

Performance Pro's company-wide default setting for weights are:

  • 0% for Core Values
  • 80% for Competencies
  • 20% for Individual Goals

Administrative users can edit the default weights. As an example, 100% Competencies and 0% Goals. 

Note: If Core Values are in use, the weight source must be company-wide. Weights can be changed at an employee level through an import. 

When using only competencies and goals, the default weight is 80% for competencies and 20% for Goals on a global company-wide basis.

Company-wide means all users will have the same weight. Weights can be set company-wide or customized by employees or on an individual basis. If a different weight source is chosen, the admin user will need to select the weight source option and click set.

Lock Weights

Locks Core Values (if applicable), competencies, and goal weights so that weights cannot be edited by an appraiser. 

Please note that when weights are locked, weights for all users are changed. Do not update weights during an active appraisal cycle as not all appraisals will be updated. If changed in the middle of an appraisal cycle, appraisals already completed will not be updated. Only appraisals not yet completed will be updated.
