Listed below are descriptions for Basic Settings under the Appraisal Settings tab. When setting changes are made, please remember to click save at the bottom of the Performance Pro page.
Basic Settings | Description of Setting |
Company Name | Customize the Company Name field that will appear on Forms, Appraisals, Reports, and the Home Screen. |
Performance Levels | Allows companies to designate up to 10 performance levels to evaluate employees. Five levels are the most common approach and is the default. The system provides Performance Level descriptions on the first five performance levels. |
Allow Scores Lower than 1 | Allows a score of less than 1 to be applied to a core value, competency or goal. |
Comments Required | With this box checked, comments for core values, competencies and goals are required. When enabled, you must choose which roles (Employee/Appraiser/Multi-Appraiser) are required to provide comments. |
Comments Required: Employee | If selected, the employee will be required to include a comment before they can mark ready. |
Comments Required: Appraiser | If selected, the manager will be required to include a comment before they can mark ready. |
Comments Required: Multi-Appraiser | If selected, the multi-appraiser will be required to include a comment before they can mark ready. |
Completion Past Due | If more than 30 days elapse between the appraiser marking "Ready” and the appraisal marked “Complete,” the appraisal will appear in red on the Appraiser’s Home Screen. |
Theme | Select one of 17 color themes to Performance Pro. |
Appraisal Frequency | Determines the default frequency of your appraisal period such as monthly, quarterly or annually. |
Allow Multiple Comments | When enabled, multiple comments can be added to the core value, competency or goal. |
Ad Hoc Appraisals | Allows for an appraisal to start and end with any dates, without the goals cycling to the next period and without impacting any established appraisal reviews. |
User Image | Allows users to upload a profile image. |
Appraisal Cycle | Determines how your company will facilitate the appraisal cadence such as a company-wide review date (the same for all employees), an anniversary date, or a custom date. This setting will impact new users as they are added to Performance Pro. |
Deactivate Appraisal Completion | Suspends the requirement for appraisers to mark "complete" on appraisals. This is most commonly used after appraisal content has been entered and approved, but before appraisers meet with employees. This allows admins time to review system data for the current appraisal cycle. Admins will need to deselect this option and have Appraisers mark "complete" in order to move to the next appraisal cycle. |
Not Applicable | Allows appraisers and/or employees to opt out of giving a rating on a core value/competency/goal. When utilizing this feature, indicate which role (appraiser, employee) are able to mark N. A. If the comments required feature is on, the user will be required to provide a comment even if marking N.A. |
Not Applicable: Employee | If selected, employees will be able to enter N.A. on Core Values/Competencies/Goals. |
Not Applicable: Appraiser | If selected, appraisers will be able to enter N.A. on Core Values/Competencies/Goals. |
Hide Logo | This setting hides the Performance Pro logo that appears at the bottom of all screens. |
Hide Next Appraisal | When checked, the next appraisal cannot be viewed by employees and appraisers until launched by the admin. |
Allow Sub Competencies | Allows the creation of sub-competencies. When enabled, competency level Descriptions are replaced with the sub-competencies created. Admins are responsible for preparing the content associated with the sub-competencies. |
Allow Sub Competencies: Require Rate | If ratings are required, appraisers can override the final score calculation by entering a different score unless the Prohibit Override feature is enabled. |
Allow Sub Competencies: Prohibit Override | If Prohibit Override is enabled, the Appraiser will not have the ability to override the final score for the competency. |
Default Appraisal View | Determines which view is printed from the Finish Appraisal screen. All three views, Snapshot, Simple, and Full, can always be printed from the Performance History area. |
Date Format | Allows the date format throughout the system to be MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY. |
IP Restrict | Performance Pro can be restricted to specific IP addresses if desired. When the setting is clicked on, a new field will appear below it where allowed IP addresses can be entered. |
